Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build rapport and leverage relationships with existing and potential borrowers with the goal of meeting customers’ needs and exceeding their expectations.
  • Analyze customers’ financial situations and advise the appropriate loan products for them.
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask and follow up with multiple customers as well as work on multiple files each and every day.
  • Lock loan at point of sale, request initial documents from the customer, and submit an initial, paperless loan package to production staff.
  • Structure and price loans accurately.

Mortgage Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the mortgage process to include submission of files and clearing conditions.
  • Working knowledge of the mortgage process from beginning to end.
  • Ability to verify and analyze financial information and documentation provided by borrowers to satisfy underwriting conditions.
  • Experience with mortgage underwriting for both wage and self-employed borrowers.
  • Capability to evaluate borrower eligibility and qualify borrowers for loan programs.

Salary Expectations

Qualified loan officers who are looking to support The Sharpe Mortgage Team’s loan pipeline will make $90,000+ per year, depending on the volume and units closed.

The Sharpe Mortgage Team is looking for a Loan Officer Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Loan Officer Assistant with recent experience. The position will be responsible for supporting the loan officers with the origination process and communicating the loan requirements with both customers and processors.

Essential Functions

– Communicate with the customer, loan officer and/or operations throughout the transaction
– Retrieve required documentation from the customer
– Prepare loan file for submission
– Schedule Closings with customers and provide closing date information to the team as needed
– Various other duties as needed for the sales and processing team 

Requirements 

– Ability to communicate effectively- both in email and verbal form
– Strong knowledge of the details of a standard loan application (1003)
– Ability to meet deadlines while working under pressure
– Ability to effectively handle simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment
– Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include some evening and weekend hours

The Sharpe Mortgage Team is looking for a Loan Processor to join our team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Loan Processors ready to work with Loan Officers and borrowers to obtain pending items necessary for loan closings and follow up on post-closing pending items as well as order inspections and prepare paperwork for construction draw requests.

Essential Functions
-Process residential mortgage loan files from initial application to funding, ensuring timely and accurate packaging of all loans originated by our loan officers
-Review loan application and gather loan documents from the customer and third parties in support of the loan approval process
-Responsible for ensuring that all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified and complies with company and/or investor policies
-Work in Encompass to ensure all information matches all loan documentation in the file
-Successfully work with Loan Officers, Underwriters and Funders to ensure that loan files are submitted to underwriting within expected timelines and that loan conditions are met as required throughout each stage of the loan process
-Prepare file for loan closing and coordinate with all necessary parties involved
-Ensure lock and closing dates are met

Requirements

-Knowledge of loan program guidelines.
-Proficiency with DU and LP, FHA Connection and VA Portal
-Able to calculate income from salaried and self-employed borrowers
-Knowledge of TRID and compliance
-Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
-Strong customer service skills – ability to build rapport quickly
-High level of accuracy and attention to detail
-Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
